ABOUT ME

My name is Saurabh Agrawal, and I am like a wildlife paparazzi from Raipur, a busy town of Chhattisgarh state in central India. Blame it on my dad, the ultimate nature buff, who dragged me into the forests since I was a wee lad. Growing up in central India was like winning the wildlife lottery – lush forests, exotic creatures, and more wild tigers than you can shake a selfie stick at. It was a biodiversity bonanza that got me hooked. I devoured books, binge-watched documentaries, and even took serious miles just to soak up nature's juiciest secrets.

Soon enough, I realised my camera had a superpower – it could freeze-frame animals in action, documenting their crazy behaviour and giving me an inside scoop. Armed with a vintage Canon AV1 film camera and a 50 mm lens, I was off on a wild goose chase for the perfect shot. Later, I upgraded my gear to a Vivitar 70-210 lens, and boy, it opened up a whole new world of possibilities.

As life went on, I couldn't bear being confined to a stuffy office cubicle. No way! I craved adventure and capturing the untamed. So, I waved goodbye to the corporate grind and embarked on a career that took me to the wildest corners of India, armed with my trusty camera. I studied tourism, earned a fancy Master of Business degree in international tourism from Australia, and voila – Chinkara Journeys was born! It is a specialised travel company dedicated to wildlife, culture and adventure tours to India’s least known yet diversely attractive regions. I now lead tiger photography and wildlife photo safari tours and tours for serious birdwatchers, sharing my knowledge and passion with fellow nature enthusiasts.

When it comes to photography, I'm no fan of the easy way out. Nope, no captive animals or tourist traps for me. I'm all about capturing nature's raw, untamed spirit and photographing wildlife in its natural habitats, showing off its true colours.

So, welcome to my little corner of the internet, where I showcase my work. As an amateur photographer and wildlife tour leader, I understand the incredible power of an image to ignite our imagination and reconnect us with nature. In a world where nature is disappearing faster than a magician's rabbit, I hope my photographs serve as a reminder of the breathtaking beauty surrounding us. Let's join forces and protect our precious natural heritage, one snapshot at a time!
